Snow Strong

The fresh fallen snow cover on this ever-green tree, looks as well-dressed and suited for the occasion of winter as a military member displaying the distinguished and standardized uniform worn.  While somewhat authoritative and somber, I think there is a gentle kindness that warms your heart like seeing an old friend or acquaintance in this painting.  The familiar essence of snow-covered trees, can trigger happy childhood memories, the remembrance of holiday get-togethers, or simply the reminder of winter and a time to ‘slow down just a bit’.  I painted SNOW STRONG with a spirit of peace and calm, thinking too of the simplicity and awe of God’s beautiful creation, free and uncompromised for all to enjoy in the great outdoors of nature. I have paired this image with verse: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer”  Romans 12:12
