A personal note from Bonnie: The typical gestation of a dairy cow is 9 months, and the normal cycle for a cow is to be in milk production for 10 months of the year and then have 2 months off, called their 'dry time', in which they prepare for the arrival of their new baby and to begin 'milking' again.
