Although I’ve been a dairy farm girl my entire life, I have always had a love and curiosity for sheep! They are domesticated, beautiful and loveable! Maybe my fascination to sheep is that we humans are referred to as God’s sheep, and Jesus our Good Shepherd. Most sheep have no sense of direction, are defenseless and innocent; they need a Shepherd like we need Jesus. Sheep are emotional, intelligent and have a wide range of feelings from anger to boredom and even happiness. They form strong bonds amongst each other and with their caretakers. The same way we need Jesus! ‘MAUDE’ just seemed like the perfect title for this sheep painting, exhibiting confidence and character of a well-cared for sheep!
