A personal note from Bonnie: Two hours before I began this painting, I grabbed my camera and headed for the pasture, where our kids were just bringing the cows across the road and into our cow yard. I stood right in the middle of the road and captured one image after another - you might recognize the front cow....she also modeled in one of my other favorite paintings THE BEAUTIFUL COW. She is Emma, my daughters 4-H project - she is almost a grandma now, and still a leader in the herd and as beautiful as ever! This was the fourth cow painting for ONCE THERE WERE NO COWS book, and admittingly a favorite which landed the cover position of the book!
