In The Studio
Sheep painting is almost finished!! I've switched back to linen canvas, which I stretched last week for this new sheep painting. I love the texture and work surface of linen and find that as I am trying to loosen my brushwork a bit, the weave of the canvas lends itself nicely. This painting is a 'mood' and a 'moment in time', where I am attempting to capture the subtle personalities of these wooly wonders. It is a study for me, as I continue to learn about the play of lighting, shadows and highlights and color temperature. No title yet...hopefully that will come this week! STATE WRESTLING TOURNAMENT A SUCCESS!!...........Zachary (our 6 year old) placed second in the Kindergarden - 50 lb division this past weekend at the MN NYWA State Wrestling Tournament in Rochester! Congratulations Zachary! I think mom and dad were just as excited. It was an awesome event, very well run, and a lot of fun. Brother Jacob also wrestled for the Glencoe-Silver Lake Team, and was Zach's 'warm-up partner'. The season ended last night with none other than, a PIZZA PARTY! Now, its on to baseball and getting calves picked out for the fair showing season. Yes......we still wait for warmer weather - we had snow flurries yesterday morning. Unbelievable - only in Minnesota! Better get to painting. Thanks for reading,
