Buddies
Things are warming up here in MN this week! We are in the 30's today and going to hit almost 50 by the weekend - this is big news for February in MN! We are loving it - it will be a mini taste of spring. Today is perfect snowman making weather - and so I share one of my all time favorite paintings "Buddies"! I created this painting about 10 years ago, on a day like today when Zach and I were out playing in the snow and built this snowman. Stella (our yellow lab) pounced around, very much in charge of this project and I knew this would become a painting as our frosty friend came to life! The boys were so little then, and hunting was already their passion - and so we dressed him up 'just like a hunter'. Shop this print HERE.
If you love this piece, or have been thinking about ordering somthing from Bonnie Mohr Studio - DO IT TOMORROW, THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 18! The wind down and clean up of Kate's wedding is now complete and life resumes a more normal rhythm - although I admit the house has taken on a new mood - it is quieter and less busy with her absence. It is the normal ebb and flow of life, and a day you know will come - when your children grow up and begin their own lives. It's a day you are ready for, but not ready for! Thankfully, the house is still roaring with the boys, Jake now a Jr. and Zach now in 8th grade - I've just had to learn to toughen my game a little. Between wrestling, ball throwing, and hurdling all the hunting and sports gear in the house, I am learning how to be a 'tough girl'! Ha!
Admittedly, my heart is restless to get back to painting. I think I have developed restless hand syndrome!! I hope I haven't lost my touch and am begging myself to get back into the studio to get a brush in my hand and get on with the list of new paintings I have planned for this year. These are the times of your life, you put family first and have complete faith that you will get back to your work asap. We are just wrapping up wrestling and basketball season, and will be finishing up taxes by the end of this week - just in time for a little winter vacation, and then - I will paint my head off ;) Stay posted friends!
Happy February -
Bonnie
