Around the Studio

AROUND THE MOHR HOUSEHOLD It was a big week of competition for the Mohr Family! Taylor competed in her first State Gymnastics Meet, held in Glencoe, MN with her team mates "Triple Crown Gymnasts" in Division 5. The team of 10 girls did outstanding, clinching the first place spot by less than half a point!! What an exciting day. In the Junior Division of 22 girls, Taylor was named 5th place in All-Around - C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S Taylor!!! Meanwhile....... it was wrestling-mania for Jacob and Zachary at Delano last Friday night. Both boys finished strong and qualified for the Regional Competition. Jacob took 1st and Zachary finished 2nd. The boys also wrestled in Lester Prairie this past weekend, both taking a 1st place medal!! Great job boys (must be all those 5 gallon pails they are lifting for chores in the barn!!) 

IN THE STUDIO I'm still creeping along, in new directions, trying out new painting techniques and new subject matter. I have been taking some time to study instructional DVD's of a couple of my favorite artists, looking to develop some new style in my work. Sitting in a cushy chair with a remote in my hand is so out of character for me, but it's a convenient way of 'schooling' and I'm very excited about the material I'm learning. (Maybe I'll get out the popcorn maker one of these days too!!) 

HAPPY EASTER wow, i's just crazy to look outside - still snowing - and think that in just a few more days it will be Easter. Being so early this year, my mind set is feeling behind yet!! But truly this is a great time of the year to celebrate. Take your family to church and rejoice in the great gift that Jesus so willingly gave... his life... for us... so that we may have Eternal Salvation and Life with him!!
